A Sampling of Custom Sacred Vesture

Gardiner Hall is pleased to make available some of the finest custom vestments and hangings in the world. Please contact us by telephone to discuss a commission. We are happy to provide samples of fabrics, trims, etc.

In January 2011, we established a partnership with Maya Looms of Nepal, a project designed to teach young and at-risk women the art of looming silk and cotton for vestments fabrics. Currently a series of fabrics in Byzantine, early Romanesque, Ethiopian and 20th century Liturgical Movement styles are being developed.

The two chasubles below were commissioned by a newly ordained diocesan priest. They are of Argentinian wool and Thai silk respectively and are ornamented with Byzantine orphreys woven in silk and cotton by the women in the mission.

Below: Semi-conical vestment made of cream woven silk and trimmed with Italian and English braids and orphreys. The design is based on a 1920s Prinknash Abbey Vestmnent in the possession of St. Anselm's Abbey, Washington, DC. The dimensions may be easily modified and a portion of the sales of this model benefit the Abbey.
